WALL OF TEXT: ZOOTOPIA 2. Finally watched Zootopia 2. I was interested in the case. How were reptiles forced out in order to build the city? Yes, please, more of that. But Disney says no, we must force a contrived wedge between Nick and Judy because we must have CONFLICT! Stop it. Just tell the story. That the movie isn’t about the crimes under which Zootopia was founded and forces us to accept the story is about a pointless wedge between the two leads is a letdown. Can’t distract me with gag-a-second bombastic pacing. Blah. It really should have been about the injustices of the past. Again Disney is too chicken to show it. Can’t think of anything more to say. Same situation as the previous movie: a much stronger story is struggling to come out, and because it’s Disney we get lots of action and gags to distract us from it.
